What it needs

Import a file from your device or connect Google Drive or OneDrive. A connection is optional if you upload documents directly.

What happens next

Patches keeps the imported copy with its useful details: document type, owner or family member, reference number, issue date, expiry date and notes. Originals remain in the source you imported from unless the product explicitly tells you they were moved.

What keeps helping

Find documents by person or type and receive reminders before important expiry dates. Renewals and claims still happen with the issuing organisation.

Your privacy boundary

A connected drive only provides the access shown on its permission screen. Disconnecting stops future access; it does not automatically remove copies or details already imported into Patches. Delete those items or your account to remove them from Patches.

What can I keep in Document Vault?

Does it renew my passport or make insurance claims?

No. It keeps documents accessible and reminds you about expiry dates. Renewals and claims stay with the relevant organisation.
